FACE OFF at Watch this Space Festival

I’ve been nice and busy. Went up to Edinburgh as a punter to see shows and to scope out venues etc for taking up Northern Soul next year. My show highlights were the “Oh Fuck Moment”, “30 Cecil Street” and “The Animals and Children took to the Streets.” Non-show highlights included walking round in a constant state of inebriation.

I’ve started work on “Major Tom” a new show about the highs and lows of British dog showing, more to come on this……

And last week I performed “Face Off” outside the National Theatre (the dressing rooms are marvellous and there is a slate bathroom with a bath) for Home Live Art’s Alternative Village Fete as part of Watch this space festival.

Face Off is a one to one performance in which I create portraits of people using police photofit software. The results are often inaccurate and dodgy it highlights the ridiculousness of the software. It’s actually quite intense, as I have to study and scrutinise the audience member’s facial features. You don’t normally get to stare so hard and for so long at a strangers face.
